Astronomy clubs for Gold Coast, QLD

hey guys, new to the forums :)
Just wondering whether there are they local astronomy clubs or some sort of get together on or near the Gold Coast. I'm fairly new to astronomy so it'd be good to meet some people who know much more on it than me as well as trying out different types of telescopes.

The only one I know of in the area is http://www.sas.org.au/ (the Southern Astronomical Society)

They meet at Pimpama State School. I have been meaning to get along there one night for nearly a year but never got round to it.

I might meet you there at one of the meetings - if I can get my act together.

Ahh the SAS, I've read a bit about them. Well ill try see how far away Pimpama state school is from me.
Thanks for the info mate I'll definitely look into it, maybe we can catch up there one day.
