Do I need two battery packs to power heq5 mount and hand controller?

Doesnt Celestron sell the PowerTank that comes with a white and red torch light? I think its around the 170 Aussie mark. Not sure how it works but i think its rechargable.

One decent marine deep cycle battery should keep you going for a couple of nights easily I would imagine.

Thanks guys for the replies. To be honest I was more interested on how to connect multiple items which need electricity to one power source assuming one power source is enough for multiple items. I hope thats clear?:shrug:

just to make sure but are you asking if you need 2 supplies to plug into both the mount itself and the hand controller at the same time?

if so you only need to plug the power jack into the mount head itself to power it, the jack on the hand controller is for when it is unplugged from the mount (ie. installing newer firmware)

i just use a small 17ah SLA battery to power mine, can get multiple nights off of 1 charge

LOL! Sorry Moh - I didn't catch that you were asking in reference to the handbox itself. Yep - when you get the mount you'll see that the handbox cable just plugs into the appropriate port on the mount and the mount handles its power requirement.

What you'll need the double-adapter for is the heater/s that you will need to stay dry when photographing.
