New to astronomy, looking for binos

Hey guys, I've had a long interest of astronomy but never bothered to go outside and observe the stars so i decided I'd start:)
I'm keen to buy new binoculars (7*50 or 7*42) as i'm told they're good to begin with.
I'm just not sure where to buy them from, any recommendations on where to buy astronomy gear (from the Gold Coast BTW)? Thanks in advance :)
