Had a decent go at Tarantula the other night.
Used masking in PS CS3 to bring out the core.
3 x 25min @ ISO800
3 x 12.5min @ ISO800
4 x 6.25min @ ISO800
4 x 3min @ ISO800
4 x 1.5min @ ISO 800
6 x 31sec @ ISO 800
Only had time to take 1 x 25 dark and 1 x 12.5 dark, used previous bias and flats for processing.
Total Exposure time of: 158 minutes.
Thanks for Looking!

Someone suggested the best way to process Tarantula is using HDR.
Seems a bit noisey and soft in places otherwise not to shabby

Very nice Mark, you have captured the vast amount nebulosity in this area and your focus and guiding looks very good.

Thanks guys for your feedback.
This has proven to be a worthy adversary. Its definitely one of the hardest targets I had to process. Its a very busy part of the sky and its dififcult to get the image smooth without overprocessing.
I think the fact that I was imaging through cloud at some stages did not help.
Next time I hope to spend some more time on this sucker!
Mark
