This re-pro habit must be catchy... :)

Added a little "Sea-sol" to my celestial rose to celebrate Australia Day

Very nice image for sure. Only down side is that satellite trail. Other than that the image is lovely.

Wow, that fair jumps out of the screen, and excellent detail Peter, worthy of a repro.

Peter,

I suggest as well as the disclaimer below the pic suggesting people tweak
their monitors to see all greyscales, that they also might explore
viewing it on an old fashioned 17" or bigger CRT.....

Because I just did...and.......

I'm speechless!

Thanks Steve, Leon.

FYI the repro image was optimized with PS4.0 to be seen on a 23" Mac Cinema display (gives a great preview an A3 print size)

An exceptional repro. That's made a very good image a great one. You've pulled out all the detail that AP155 produced which is a lot.

Years later, the AP155 still remains a standard.

Thanks. I'm told the AP155 (with its famed ultra high index NASA glass, sadly no longer available ) has slightly better I/R correction than the current model AP160...which is a little tighter in the visual, but is also a little slower at F7.5

The nice aspect of the AP155's overall correction is it's not necessary to refocus with each filter.

I've not found this to be the case with my Taka FSQ106 which I had originally slotted to capture the image due the significant angular size of the Rosette Neb.

It would be nice to add some ultra high-res luminance data with the RCOS...but I suspect the weather will not co-operate

There doesn't appear to be many AP160's out there with images posted. There is a guy in Greece who posts images using one. The 155 images do look better in my opinion.

I like my AP140, I know what you mean about the stunning colour correction. Perfect.

Greg.
