Pretty amazing cloud formations there Chris,
Time to worry is if you see an airborne cow coming your way, thats what happened in "Twister".

Keep your head down.

Well captured, Chris.

They aren't as rare as the media would have you believe.

Hi Chris,

Great shots!

Looked like it was almost time to put on the ruby red shoes and start chanting
"There's no place like home"!

Best regards

LOL! Thanks everyone :)

Well, after circling around like a cornered animal, this storm delivered all of 17 drops (I counted them) of very cold rain and then went POOF!

I always thought that they were rare in this part of the world, but you are right, and we have had quite a number over the years.

Australia is the second most common place for tornados next to USA. Because Australia is such a large country with a small population we just don't see them as much.

Love those shots, Omaroo. But that's Sydney isn't, great storms like the Gold Coast/Brisbane have.

Reminds me when a storm hit Melbourne just over a year ago.
A few days before xmas, man, I have never ever seen a storm like that.
It was very hot and humid. Sky turned all greenish blue hues.

It rained that had, I reckon we had about 30 ml's in about 10 minutes.
The road near my work flooded that bad, the whole road was under foot of water.
But the most interesting thing we had, was a wind that I reckon was a tornado trying to form. It punched winds that strong it bent tree's over sideways just before they would break.
Then all of a sudden, it stopped. In a blink of an eye. Weird.

Intense photos.

Awesome shots Chris .....Big clouds for 16 spots, the menace looks like it could of dropped 2-3 inchs.
Its a good thing the monster dissapated.
Cheers Kev.
