Taken last night, 20th January.
500 frames @ 128x integration.
I turned the gain down quite a bit and managed to create a lot smoother image this time.
Again, more data would be nice, but I was shooting through sucker holes and am grateful for what I could get.

Great piccie JJJ:)

I've been thinking, you know how sometimes with the Gstar you get that fisheye look with the stars (the black rings around them). I have a feeling that it may have something to do with the amount of integration being applied to the image. It's like the stars are being overexposed. Might pay just to back off the intergration a tad (say, from x128 to x96) and see what happens. Just means you may need a few more images to stack to bring out the data. However, I think you're pretty close with the amount of gain you've got in the piccie. It's a lot smoother than normal.

Hi jjj,
Can I ask you exactly what your setup was for this image? Goto mount? all that sort of stuff? I am interested in the GSTAR and would like to know more. Any thoughts you have would be well received.

Regards,
Tony Barry

Jeanie, that little camera can get some great shots.

What are sucker holes? You mean in between torrential downpours:)

Sorry Robin, I thought I'd already answered you, but the post didn't come up.
You are quite right, sucker holes are those holes in the clouds that suckers like me keep pointing their cameras through.

No sucker holes tonight, just stuck my noggin outside and it's clear as ...
First time in weeks and yet they forecast storms for tomorrow. go figure ...

One day though, someone is going to produce the ultimate image and we'll hear the theme from 2001 as it presents itself to everyone:eyepop::P:D

A great result for trying conditions. The Gstar seems to do the job very easily. Well done.
