This is my first Saturn for this apparition.

Seeing was just a bit above average at Clayton last night but I am happy with the image. If you look carefully on the right hand side of the ring system you can see the gap between the rings and the planet. On the left hand side you can see the shadow of the planet on the rings. Some possible storm activity in the pink belt (yeah real professional description, probably called the SEB just like on Jupiter) just above the ring plane.

700 frames in each colour stacked from 1480 frames.

Really beautiful image Paul, truly top shelf.
Lovely colour and heaps of detail.

Any cloud structure stands out more prominently in the Red channel so before you merge the channels suss it out to see if there is any activity.

A very nice image, Paul, and a great way to open your account this apparition.

I think this is the first image I've seen this year that shows the opening between the ring system and the planet itself... Very sharp, lots of detail..

Well done Paul.

This shows excellent detail between the planet and the rings. Colours are spot on, easily the best resolved image so far this season.
