Hi all, heres on from last night of the Eight-burst PN taken through the DSI II Pro with Narrowband filters. The difference this time is that I changed the cameras imaging configuration to f/5.0 from f/3.3 as it is usually set at.

The details of this image are

50 subs @ 15 seconds each in Ha, OIII and SII.
combined and processed with MaximDL

Setup was the LX200R 12" and DSI II Pro @ f/5.0 in Alt/Az mode.

The first image is at f/5.0 and the second image is at f/3.3 which I've included for comparison, its imaging details and processing are the same as the one fom last night so it makes for an interesting comparison.

Thanks for looking and all comments welcome.

Cheers:)

Both excellent Ric, and even with the second image being small, it is quite outstanding, I love that wide field stuff, nice going.

Thats a very pretty PN Ric!
Nicely done.
What color palette did you use for this one Ric?
cheers Gary

Thanks Leon, it's nice to see two different views. I suppose the next attempt should be at f/10.0. that would be interesting.:)

Thanks Gary, I was using Astrnomik 13nm NB filters and processed them using the hubble pallette of SHO

Hi Ric

There is some very nice structure and detail in the F5 image; it looks quite electric with the filters you used. Top results from such short exposures!

Thanks Dennis, I as very happy to bring out the faint 16th Magnitude star in the gas shell in that image.

I'm also keen in the future to revisit this PN when I have the Obs set up and I'm using equatorial mode for longer and deeper images.

Nice job Ric, the eight burst is a lovely PN.

Don't think I have seen a narrow band version of this PN before?

If you can I think you should try it at F10 and slightly longer exposures.

Thanks Clive, they can be quite tricky little beggars at time but it's getting a little easier now as I come to understand the imaging settings and my processing techniques as well.

Thanks Paul, I'm glad the outer gas shells came out so well. Narrowband also give you a lot more licence with the colours as well.

cheers Mike, I glad you liked it. I definitely would like to have a go at f/10 but I really would like to have the scope on the wedge and pier and in the observatory to really do it justice.

Thanks Matt, I always enjoy chasing the planetary's.

Definately do this at F10, impressive results so far.
