Hi All,

I have just upgraded to an EQ6, so my old photography rig has got to go.

The got is controlled by a meade 497 handset (see http://www.data-plumber.com/autostarupgrade.htm ) and has a autoguiding module a that accepts a st4 input. It is the later model CG5 with roller bearings instead of bushes. It comes with a heavy duty stainless steel tripod (same size as as eq6) and custom pier.

I have also performed most of Astronomy boys suggestions for the cg5.
This cg5 is a 'pick of the litter' and tracks well.

Asking $500+ post or part payment towards an over 6 inch cassegrain OTA, or anything that may interest me.

Hiya Brett, just wondering how much weight this mount can take.

Thanks, Kerrie

I have imaged with both the vixen refractors below (in the bio) mounted with the 80 autoguiding and I got round stars. I think that would be a lot heavier than your sw600.;)

If you want to take a look at it I will be in orange working on thursday.

Hi again Brett.

I just realised that the CG5 mount is essentialy the same as the EQ5, which is what I already have (except that mine in not a goto, nor does my motor controller have an ST4 port).

The autoguiding 'module' you mention - is this an ST4 port or an equivalent that accepts ST4 compatable input?

Which 'Astronomy boys' suggestions have you performed on the mount?

Thanks, Kerrie

The autoguiding module accepts an st4 input for autoguiding only for the meade autostar Goto system. Think of it as an autostar expansion.

As for the astronomy boy's suggestion I pulled it down and regreased with lithium grease not the synta black glue. I did not file anything down as he did, to me it was not worth getting metal shavings in the mount plus I could find any high spots to file down!
