Mosaic of 2 fields - M42 and Running man nebula.
7 x 240 sec for Running man
7 x 240 + 5 x 30sec for M42
(ICNR, flats etc performed, all subs ISO 400)

Each field 240sec field stacked then merged together, stretched, etc. 5 x 30sec frames stacked and layered in last. Whole thing tortured for a while in PS.

May not convince the gurus here, but I'm reasonably happy for a first try and this sort of black magic. One minor problem - my final cropped frame is probably only a smidge larger FOV than the 450 can manage with a single frame anyway I suspect (cf first ever M42 in 2nd pic). Ah well, educational exercise on a cloudy Fri night.

Worked well I reckon Rob. Well done with the merge - it's pretty seamless.

Nicely done, Rob. Actually, I like the first pic....bit more colourful plus the trap area isn't overblown like in the 2nd pic. Nice work:)

Thank guys. I'm a bit of a clutz with PS, but trying to conquer bits of it. Sorry if my explanation bit garbelled renormalised - 1st pic is the new mosiac (cropped etc), 2nd one is one of my first decent astro pics - just for FOV comparison with a normal single frame.
