Hey,

just stumbled across this site:

http://starizona.com/acb/basics/index.aspx

Gives some good basic info on selecting and using 'scopes, may be useful for noobs.

Helo, I have visited the "Starizona" site and it is very informative, thankyou for sharing the tip! The articles on IIS are also brilliant and have helped me start out. As I'll only ever do basic observing, I draw rather than photograph, but the basic "science" is what I crave to know and that is contained in both sites. Thanks and Happy Skies!

saturn isn't up till much later at present, and being side on the rings are almost non exsistant! but its pretty easy to pick out once you know where to look for it.

G'day " Cougs (Chris)"

Do you know your stars ?
form an almost Equilateral triangle in "LEO"with
Regulus (alpha mag 1.4 7 on the ecliptic)
and the tail Denobola (beta mag 2.1)
back on to the ecliptic and you should have it in your sites
a golden glowing orb around mag 2.8
