My Meade 10" LX200R is just 15 months old however I have decided to put it up for sale.

I believe it is the same as the current model on sale (Meade LX200-ACF 10" Advanced Coma Free)...
=> https://www.bintelshop.com.au/Product.aspx?ID=7150

albeit the current model has a new name due to a recent court case
read about it=> http://www.skyandtelescope.com/news/14070427.html

I am selling it with a JMI case designed to fit (I couldn't have survived without this case for a scope this size/weight).

Accessories:
additional eye piece (10mm)
moon filter
240v power supply

New Scope = $7,599
JMI case = $1,300 Edit: confirmed with vendor
Total new = $8,899

Sell price $6,500

I live in Gladesville NSW. Let me know if you are interested.

Matt

Edit: removed reference to missing power supply after I found it again
Edit: Changed replacement price for JMI case based on confirmed price

Hi Matt

Are you willing to pack and send or is it pickup only.

Thanks

Rod

I have no problem sending it, but I don't personally want to take the risk (ie of it being dropped, stolen, lost etc). If you are willing to take that risk (or insure against it), then I can certainly send it. I still have the original packing box however that would obviously double the cube of the items being shipped (ie empty JMI case and box)

As another thought, my Father in law lives in Adelaide and he is driving over to Sydney in a couple of weeks (maybe Aust Day LWE TBC). I could probably talk him into detouring via Melbourne on the way home if you were prepared to pay him a couple of hundred bucks for his time, extra petrol, accommodation etc. Probably quite a bit cheaper than freight plus insurance, and certainly a lot safer.

And by the way, I can't seem to find my 240volt power pack. I took it with me to Adelaide for holidays and seem to have misplaced it. I still have a cigarette lighter power supply however. So hence that item is likely to come off the accessories list.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards

Matt

Hello Matt

I am interested in the scope but would not have much use for the JMI case. Are you prepared to split the package and if so how much would you be asking for just the scope

Thank you

Emanuel

Sorry for the slow reply. For some reason I didn't get an email to let me know your post was here.

It's always a tough question - to split or not to split. It's my preference to sell the lot however I would be prepared to sell all but the case for $6,000 leaving me a chance to recover the rest on a one off sale of a case.

Regards

Matt
