Ha ngc3576 & 3606

Hi all,
well the wind had been blowin' for at
least a week, finally stopping on a relatively stable night.
So with the moon out I tried to kill two birds with one stone.
Not happy with my framing but had too many subs down
to re position.
Lovely area of sky, hope to get some colour when the moon
goes.

Thanks for that Humayun.
I was quite happy with the nights clarity and the scope resolved some relatively good detail.
I could use another hours worth of Ha data to really push things and get smoother results.
Fickle time of the year around here...
Hopefully weather and wind will be kind.

Good looking stuff Rich .... I'm glad I can see your images again by using a computer running XP .... as you may recall I can't view your site with my laptop that runs on Vista .... don't ask me why .... it shuts down IE when ever I try to visit your site. Vista is a load of crap I reckon.

I have been having troubles with weather in my new dark sky location too .... strong ( almost gail force ) easterly winds at night because we have been having a heat wave for weeks here inthe west. Ofcourse now things have calmed down a little for a few days and it's bright moon time ay :rolleyes:

I need to get my observatory set up again ;)

From Nov- Feb the wind generally blows from the sth est here, we call it blowvember. Makes it hard to image in this area of sky even with an observatory.

Glad you've taken the heat off me here for a bit, last year was ridiculous. Still our hottest months of Feb and March are still to come:sadeyes:

yes a top area of sky for some of the brightest/ largest nebulous regions.
As mentioned, hard to turn the observatory into the wind at this time of year, however, this night, the wind didn't kick in, the sky was pretty steady, and I was a happy chappy.

These two objects are roughly located a quarter of the distance from The Keyhole neb (Carina) to Crux. Ra 11hr12'13" Dec -61*25'49" if this is any help to you.

Hi Jase, good to hear from you!
I should have taken a little more care with framing, but I already had 10 subs down, looked at it on the inside computer and went, could be better, but didn't want to stop in case the wind started up...
So I guess it's probably a different view than most with a similar fov.:shrug:
I'm certainly hoping the wind will give me a break to get some colour. :whistle:
But it's pretty darn relentless this time of the year.
