Hi all,

This time, the biggest castle in the Czech Republic, and a view from the tower.

Another magical fairytale place that is a must see.

The final image of the view from the tower is non-HDR.

Comments and critique, welcome.

Humayun

Hi Humayun,

Once again, all absolutely magnificent!

Light pollution aside for one moment, I guess one theme coming through
as well is how professionally lit some of these structures are. I also thought
that the other day looking at Rocket Boy's most recent Sydney Opera House
shot, that is, that outdoor lighting specialists have gone to considerable
lengths to get the lighting uniform and aesthetically pleasing.

As you know, cinematographers on big production movie sets and some
professional still photographers go to extraordinary lengths to light some
external scenes, often requiring days of preparation and obviously considerable
expense.

I guess the 'in-situ' professional lighting installations for some of the world's more
architecturally significant structures is as close as the rest of
us get to the 'big budget' lighting experience. :)

Once again, these outdoor night shots of yours have done a stupendous job
of showcasing the opulence and magnificence of these European structures.
If they were on the postcard rack next to the castle, they would sell like hot cakes!

Best Regards

Gary

Greetings Humayun,

Just have to echo Gary's comments. All of these images you have been posting from your trip are simply stunning, would make wonderful postcards or would be perfect illustrations for a book. They would also look great blown up as wall posters in a travel agents office or maybe at the appropriate Consulate.

They are just so professional and just so esthetically pleasing.
Obviously you have selected some of the most impressive subjects imaginable, but I think there is a lot more to your images than just the mind blowing beauty of the subjects.

How you have constructed these images and the work, I believe you must have done with your setup and processing, really does mark you as an exceptionally gifted photographer, that is, at least in my humble opinion.

Ditto to what has been said, always magnificent pictures, Humayun.
Hoping to have a week in Prague later in year, and plan to check out Cesky Krumlov. :)

Very Gormenghast!

Lovely photos. You'll have to give us all tutorials in HDR. Mind you, as others have said, there is plenty more talent on show here than mere technique. Thanks for posting them.

Cheers,

Brian.

Brilliant shots again H !

I see so many HDR shots which are overdone on other photography forums, yours are always fantastic mate.
And the scenery is just magic.

Gary,

Thank you, once again! I agree with everything you've said. As indulgent as using up so much energy for the purpose of illuminating these buildings in unique ways may seem, we do take lighting for granted on these awesome structures.

Trevor,

Wow, thank you so much for that humbling praise. I give it my all, no matter if it is a landscape, a portrait, or my astrophotography (which I miss so dearly and can't wait to resume).

If I get my way, I'll be moving towards eventually becoming a fulltime photographer. I put my heart and soul into everything I capture, process and present.

Mike,

Thank you! :)

Liz,

Thank you, too. :) Oh, boy, you're going to love Prague. They call it the Paris of the East. I fell in love with Paris, and, had no idea what was waiting for me when I went to Prague. It is a gem. If you get to Český Krumlov, there's some really nice restaurants in the main square.

Brian,

Thank you so much. Most appreciated! There will be tutorials aplenty, soon. :)

Matt,

Cheers, sir. There's more on the way.

Andrew,

Thanks, mate. I'm guilty of overcooking my tonemapped images, but, am learning to apply the process liberally. If the subject deserves the full on dirty treatment, I will do it (like my Arc de Triomphe image).

Scott,

Thank you!

I am really humbled by all your kind comments, everyone. I will post more as time permits.

Regards,
Humayun
