Hi All,

Moderation on IIS has received at lot of support of late.
Today I was looking at various IIS forums when I noticed one totally inappropriate post on the "Star Parties Clubs and Observing Sessions Forum".

It appeared to have originated from an overseas source and had nothing to do with that forum, or probably any IIS forum. It was a very extensive advert that had nothing to do with astronomy.

I thought I was the first to look at it as the "views" for that post only showed 1. I initially went onto another post, but then thought no, I should go back and hit the red report post button, however in the very short time it took me to try and return to that post, it had been dealt with by a moderator.

Well done guys, its nice to know that our forums are being adequately moderated and this was a prime example of it.

Regards
Quark

Hi Quark

I saw 2 of these a few weeks ago, one person flogging mobile phones and the other was a job agency? - opportunists at best and nothing associated with astronomy. Good pickup and well done to the moderators

Most times the spammers are picked up and banned very quickly - a lot of times before they've even posted.. I'm getting pretty good at spotting them in their user registration ;)

Thanks for going to report it Trevor. That's exactly what it's there for.

Hmmm,

Yes, saw one of these on New Year's Eve, regarding mobile phones and I sicked the "Eliminator" on to him (AKA - RB / Andrew). Even with a full boot on NYE, he had him done and dusted in about 15 mins from detection.

Faster than an on-access virus scanner.

Well done moderators! you rock.

Cheers

Chris

Heh, saw the mobile phone ads(4 of them) about midnightish last night.
Figured someone would have reported already and left it at that but then thought that maybe I had better hit the red x's anyway.
First time I've ever reported in 12-ish years of forum visiting.

I went to ban them after seeing their username and found you'd already beat me to it ;)
