I've been a little quiet around these parts recently busy with personal stuff, but today was the greatest day that made it all worth while. I finally met my boy, Rion. Born this morning at 9:42, tipping the scales at 7lb 15oz.

Here's myself and Rion (http://www.comethunter.com/images/Rion6.jpg) getting to know each other just after delivery, and this (http://www.comethunter.com/images/Rion6.jpg) is a close up of Australia's next astronaut!:anaut:
Everyone is doing great and cant wait to come home. I guess this means a little 8" dob is on the cards soon....

they are great, thanks for sharing. my two are 5 and 2, 5 yr a real little lady, the 2 yr old is very determined and starting to gets a couple words together.

they are great, awesome highs and disasterous lows. they are the funniest little creatures you can meet.

best piece of advice given to me: they can't hurt themselves from crying. they are really cluely from very young, if they know you will pick them up at the drop of a hat, you won't get to sleep thru the night until they are 3 or 4!

have a great time and look out for saturn in that 4am feed.

Congrats Andrew! All the best to the new family, it's truly a gift and even though it can be very very trying, there's also so many good times that you'd never turn it back.. I think you can feel that already after only 12 hours.

Hope you still get some time for stargazing and forum browsing! :)

Doesn't a month go so fast.:eyepop: Rion was a month old yest. He's doing really well and settling in great. He and mum were a little too busy to watch the V8's on the weekend but I managed to fit some quality cricket time in after work...

Congrats Andrew, best wishes.

It is amazing that the most rare and precious element in the universe is life, it does not require a microscope or a telescope.

Sadly over the years my astronomy has had to take a back seat, however tonight was the first time I've had the scope out of it's box since Rion was born, and he absolutely loved it! Here he his checking out M42 - he's name sake ;)

Thanks for all the comments, he's one special little bloke - the little bugger can recite his ABC's backwards @ 3yrs :eyepop:

Hope to catch up with some locals soon in the near future.
