Hi everybody

I think this is probably my last post, as with 12 days to go the observatory has to be torn down on Saturday :mad2:.

I have been shooting colour unbinned now for a while, but opted to go back to 2x2 to save time and get some data in before I pack up.

So this is an LRGB image of 6 hours (1x1) 3hrs each RGB (2x2). Its a terrific galaxy and just 50 million LYs away.

thanks for looking, as always.

I'll really miss your images Martin :( But I hope it's not your last post.. the internet is a big place and makes the world a small one.

Come back and say g'day!

A lovely image Martin - as always - esp considering it's such a small object.

Good luck with your move - let us know how you go!!

Nice shot, Martin...hopefully you'll be up and running again in no time flat:D

Just out of interest, NGC2442 is a bit over 60,000ly across (using the small angle formula).

Hi Martin,
great swan song there buddy!
I love this little galaxy, has some lovely detail in the arms and also is very interesting object to read about.
Like how you centered the main object to include the little galaxy to the bottom.

Interesting to compare with my recent image..

Hello everyone.

many thanks for your feedback and well wishes.

Dont worry...I will be eager to post photos of the new observatory once established, as well as a first light from that location and once I am in a house I will check in and keep track of what folk are imaging down under

One thing is for sure.....really looking forward to that A380 business class flight to LA! You're not flying it are you Peter?;)

cheers
Martin
