Yeah I was looking at those yesterday. Might get one soon...either the 15mm of the 20mm. Does anyone know how these compare to the ones that were reviewed in S&S?

Mick,
I have not seen or tried those Qx's.
I suggest they are Meades cheaper ones. Meaning maybe not so good.
Best.

Being a 5 element design they are likely to be similar in performance to gso superviews, but at a much higher cost, especially once imported to Aus.

I would think that getting the newer 5000 series UW EP's are of better value, more elements involved and I think that Meade is now trying to compete with televue. This may mean that the new series will have a higher grade of perfomance, but not necessarily as high a standard as the televue EP's.

I've had the opportunity to try the 26mm QX in daylight terrestrial applications in several scopes from f/11 down to f/7. The image seemed sharp to the edge of field in these tests. One customer who purchased this eyepiece based upon a daylight impression in a f/7 TV-85 refractor promptly returned the eyepiece after using it in his f/5 refractor. Intuition suggests that thse eyepieces will work just fine in a typical f/10 SCT, but approach with caution when using scopes faster than f/7.
thnx astro...
I'd say go the gso ones instead.. probably very similar. i'd like to see a side by side test :)
i've decided on the 30mm gso wide view thingy :)
picking up on saturday

Great to hear Ving.. I expect a review too, and make sure it is full of technical terms like "thingy" and "wobbletronic"
it sure will be!
"with the thingo in place in the wobbleotronic you can see heaps of bright stuff"
:P
love my technical terms ;)

I bought the GS superview 2" 30mm.....I had my First look with it last night...I cant complain...all looked good for the price....bit unsure about the GS 2x Barlow 2"....was cheap and will probably purchase a higher quality barlow later....if I go another Barlow that is....may just purchase more eyepieces?
