Dam fluro lights...

I haven't been able to do much observing since I got my 12" Dob. I am either working all night when we get clear skies here and the nights that I'm not working it is normaly overcast.

I didn't have to work tonight so I decided to take the scope out and knock a few things off the list I have been making the last few weeks. Beautiful clear skies, so I thought it would be a great night. 20 minutes into my session and the dam neighbours over the fence decided to go out for the night and leave the 6 fluro lights on the back porch blazing:mad2:. I was tempted to start throwing bricks over the fence in the hope I might be able to knock them out but decided to come back inside and call it a night after a mere 20 mins.

Just politely let them know that you are using a telescope and could they please turn the lights off. Maybe invite them to have a look through the scope.

Otherwise, nothing a slingshot couldn't fix:D

I have asked them before If they could leave the front lights on instead of the back ones, no luck though. Everytime they go out they always leave the back lights on. Might have to try the bricks next time.

if you have already spoken to them then they are very inconciderate ask again then take matters into your own hands

Are they good people Craig as in do you drink beer with them or are they the neigbours from hell?

Only time I have ever spoken to them was when I asked if they could leave the lights off at night. I wouldn't call them good neighbours, they have music blaring on week nights till 3am sometimes.

Some times when people go out and they leave lights on in their backyard destroying observing sessions or have blasting music till all hours, their fuse box has its power turmed off.
I don't know how to explain it. Must be just a natural phenomenon.

Maybe one day it will happen to your neighbours.
