Here are a couple of images done with the new version of EasyHDR. It has far more control over the HDR data.

NGC 3293 5.3MB

M42 3MB

Check out the dark dust detail near the Trap. The new version has control over contrast of faint data over the the frames that best record them.

I have got a bit more to work out but it is a start.

Nice images Bert. I have a copy of Easy HDR and must give it a whirl.
Did you use flat frames on the M42 image?

Yes Doug I did use flat frames. I suppressed the noise in the vignetted areas of M42 with PS. If you are going to use Easyhdr you need to have very well aligned frames and exactly the same size. I use RegiStar to do this. My method is on this site. If you want wil post it here. This would have to be the most frustrating hobby yet invented. Just when you think you have got to the top of the mountain you find you are only on a foothill!
