This was taken back in late September when I did my Andromeda M31 (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=36459) shot.
The weather suddenly put an end to the session on M31 so I quickly swung the scope to the Pleiades and took off the reducer to capture 2 x 10 min frames of M45.

I didn't want to frame all of it in, rather I wanted to concentrate on just the centre section of M45.

I was hoping to get a chance at more data for this one but the weather has been terrible since and I haven't had the chance to gather any more shots, so here it is, the best I could do with what I had:

M45 The Pleaides (http://www.astro-image.org/page/ds/m45.htm)

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year !

Cheers
Andrew

Good one Andrew .... pity the weather hasn't allowed you to do some more on M45 now that it is higher in the sky earlier ... maybe in the New Year.

Thank you so much everyone, glad you liked it.
I'm hoping to have another go at it asap, with more exposure.

Longer subs sure work out better than the equivalent amount using shorter subs.

Cheers

That's sweet Andy,
real nice subtle colours and well done for only 2 subs.
Sometimes images of this object can look way over the top.

All the best
Rich

Agree, longer subs would have done this image wonders RB. You've still managed to extract some of the fantastic wisps of nebulosity. Undoubtedly more data would allow you to stretch it harder. Look forward to seeing more. Well done.

great shot RB:eyepop: - when are you going to get a real telescope;) so you can fit the whole thing in:P:D (corker of a shot mate was that with the DS60mm refractor?)

green with envy with the shot RB, the detail is pretty darn good

Thank you Richardo, coming from you I feel very flattered, cheers !

And thank you too Jase, always a pleasure to read your comments and advice, Happy New Year mate all the best.

LOL Davo !
I would get the real telescope out but someone trumped me to the lovely Sirius Dome that went for a bargain on here recently.
Now I'll have to keep on waiting till I build my observatory to get the old 'door stop' setup and running.
The TOA-130 will have to suffice for now LOL !

Cheers mate.

Thanks Louie, yep I just carried on with the 10 min subs @ ISO 400 from the previous session on M31.
The EM400 is wonderful to use.

Can't wait to try again.
