Well...you know what they say about Queensland:rolleyes:

I was hoping to get some Venus imaging done tonight with the new UV filter with the DMK and C9.25...with a few 40D Jupiter/Mercury conjunction pics thrown in for the heck of it.

But...as with every afternoon of my Christmas break...the weather has conspired against me:sad:

It's 4.24pm local time. Perhaps it will clear by 6.30???

Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

PS - Yes....I know....it's the 'wet' season, and tiz to be expected, etc etc etc

It's forecast to be fine, David. Fine and hot, actually.

How long you up here?

From the TV news tonight it looks like it is going to be scorching, 34º or similar. How do you cope with that??

It'll dammed hot and very dry on the other side of the mountains if he decides to follow the advise given.

If he heads up the coast it'll be dammed hot and very very very sticky.

Hope his car has a good airconditioner in it. He'll need it.

Been sunny and toasty , not a lot of wind here , all day .... been inside with the aircon on all day, boss woman wanted help with her blog.

Might mozey into the harbour with some squidys and my big stick tonight and maybe see if the jewy are on the bite .... is new moon and HT about midnight so will be nice near the water (at Stockton , too many yobboes on Newcastle side in the early evening , this close to NYE the carpark is probably closed to traffic).

Cloud mostly gone...now what to do about that wind.....

matt

Have already set the scope up and am ready to go!!!!

Hopefully the wind will die down and the seeing will co-operate...but there's a front passing through which might shake things up a bit.

We'll see:D

One nice big one will do , squiddies are out of the freezer and thawing , will head in maybe in about an hour ...

edit .... mozzies are really biting out there tonight .... dammit .... time it took to put the rod on top the car I was getting eaten alive !!!! Good movie on NBN too .

Need more Aerogard .... wont be going tonight .... maybe the on New Year's Day , tide is later then anyway which is better.

Looked about while outside and putting the rod on the car , not any clouds , but looks very hazy right now , be very foggy later , not real flash for stargazing or imaging here in Gateshead tonight.

Hmm.

I had a crack at Venus earlier tonight. The seeing was most craptabulous:lol:

I'm not going to pull a late niter/early morning...but I've got my fingers crossed for you Alex. I hope the seeing turns and you get something special:thumbsup:

Cheers mate... Though at this stage, Eta carine looks like its inside a bowl of jelly... Orion is nice and high, seeing looks good up there, but lower its not so great... Im having fun doing some observing for the first time in god knows how long... (11" really provides some enjoyment compared to the 8" newtonian.. :D )
