Hi All......
Just wondering if anyone knows of some web site or software where I can get some good moving diagrams of the planets rotation around the sun...
What I am looking for is 1 modile showing all the planets moving around the sun.....high quality if possible.....
If this fails...I will try a book but prefer to see everything in motion if possible.
Appreciate any feedback...Thanks

One you might try is called Celestia. http://sourceforge.net/projects/celestia/
Its a pretty comprehensive begginers (and not so beginners) program (3D) with heaps of interesting interactive options and graphics. It allows you to move throught the galaxy (including the solar system) and view different areas of space from different viewpoints. The solar system part is great . you can display orbits, look at it from different angles to the eliptical. Heaps of useful stuff.
Once you download it and install it go to the help menu and copy the control key options (under "Controls") and paste them into wordpad or notepad, then print them out. Makes moving through and operating Celestia a lot easier.
Good luck with it

It takes a while to get the hang of it, but its great fun. And very educational if your interested in solar system dynamics

Hiya Tony,
Try this program out. I downloaded it from this site (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/celestia/celestia-win32-1.3.2.exe?use_default=optusnet)
I've just installed it and it's not too bad.
You can also try
this one (http://openuniverse.sourceforge.net/#Download)
I'm in the process of trying this one (http://www.sssim.com/en/product/onnet/index.html#) out now.
Not sure if these are what you were looking for though. Hope it helps anyway.
I see that I was too slow with my reply! My first link was also to a program called celestia.
Well, I had no luck with that last program so don't worry about installing it. Celestia seems the best out of them so far. The second one, Open Universe is not too bad. It's pretty looking but I can't see where it shows the entire solar system. Oh well, I tried!
