Hi all,

I'm hoping that someone can help.

I own a pair of the Andrews Ultra MB 10.5 x 70 Binoculars which are brilliant but I really feel that I should have got the 15 x 70's , the binoculars look to have the same body and I was wondering if anyone knows if I could change the eyepieces, Andrews communication said no when I asked but I wondered if they were just being coy about their supplier ( after all the bino's are really as good as they claim ). I have had them for nearly a year so it is not possible to swap them.

Whilst they offer wonderful wide 5 degree views the reality is that there are very few objects that require that field to apreciate them and many more objects that could do with more magnification.

Am I wasting my time ? Should I just get something like the 20 x 80 triplet that they sell for only $199 ?

I don't think in those models they are designed to be pulled apart, and the binos would probably not be right again, though some people do re-assemble it would be at your own peril & they wold not be WP anymore,

you could get the triplets, but i think the MB line is a cut above the standard bins - read the cloudy nights binoculars thread if you need convincing.

Thanks Daniel

I couldn't see how to remove the eyepieces so it is likely I would damage them, it's a pity because the 15 x look the better choice and they appear identical apart from the eyepieces.

The MB's are spectacular to look through and I wouldn't want to compromise the quality , if the triplets are not the goods are there any other equivalents to the MB's out there ?

thanks
