I don't know if this Question has been asked before:shrug:
Would you buy a camera off Ebay from Hong Kong?
Cheers

Haven't bought anything that costly from HK - only smaller accessories with no problems at all.
Did send my DSLR to be modded in HK and was impressed by speed/price/insurance of the HK postal service.
Remember though anything over $1000AU will attract import tax:(

If the exchange rate made it a lot cheaper than the local camera shops , and they refuse to match the price , yes.

Thanks fella's, I am going shopping tomorrow and will check out local prices.
The camera I am interested in is under 1k so tax wont be an issue.
Yes i have a 30D that i got and 70-200mm lens 20-40mm and 10-20mm all have worked fine and still have then. So would i buy again yes i would. But that is just me.

I doubt that anything on offer from Honkers will come in cheaper than you can buy locally if you shop around, certainly the prices being asked on ebay are only just on par with Australian prices, if you add freight they're often more expensive.
Then there's the warranty issue, a genuine Australian warranty is far better than having to send a camera overseas for warranty repair. Like the others I have bought some cheaper accessories from HK with no issues, but I wouldn't buy a camera.

I've bought most of my camera accessories from China and Hong Kong with no problems at all.
But I don't think I'd buy the actual camera this way. Too many chances of it going astray in the post or being damaged etc.
