Yet another stunner Mark.
The cooled 40D pushes these "bread and butter" images into a different league!
Unfortunately this makes me want a cooled 40D even more.
Very nice - the extended nebulosity makes it look like the running man has finally caught up with his colourfull neighbour!!
Cheers

Lovely image Mark. It's so smooth you'd swear there was noise reduction. Those cooled cameras are great!

Great image Mark.

Fred - I know you're joshin' but I reckon M42 is still one of the more difficult objects to get absolutely right. The dynamic range is just so darn extensive!

OK, Mark, you handled the dynamic range well, yes thats the difficult part on M42, yawn :D . Now do as instructed, punk

M42 is much more difficult to do well than the Lagoon, Trifid and Tarantula..err?..which I notice appear on your web site quite a few times Freddily Deddily ..now leave Chris (and anyone else who isn't imaging an oversampled, blury, tiny thumbnail size piece of the sky through a long FL straw) alone :mad2:

Excellent job Mark
