View Full Version here: : What Astro Prezzies ?
Hey Guys,
c'mon, let's hear about what Astro Prezzies everyone got :D
I got an Orion OIII filter hoping it will help in our light polluted skies here in Perth. And a second one each of TV 25mm Plossl and moon filter to go with my existing ones for use with my Oberwerk binocs - hoping for great things !
I hope everyone had a super day with their friends and/or families - we certainly did. We have for the past few years hosted the Christmas dinner and days activities. I used to regard this as a bit of a fag as there's plenty to do as you will know. But now, with a change of heart I have chosen to look upon it as a pleasure and a privilege, since none of us know how long our families (older members especially!) may be around.
A very happy 2009 to all :2thumbs:
no astro prezzies for me  its one of those things that all the people that i know wouldnt have a clue what to buy me when it comes to astronomy  so i have to buy that stuff for myself :Dhahah
But i did get a cool video camera with a built in hard drive and all that other cool stuff that is does  and the first thing that came to mind was mmm what can i do with this and my scope :screwy::screwy:
No astro-prezzies for me either, but I did buy myself a couple of kegs for my craftbrew :D

:prey2: Book: Carl Sagan - Cosmos
I've already watched the DVD Series 3 times; though the book is still brilliant, cant put it down.
Na, none for me either, but than as Jen says, it would be hard for someone else to buy for me.

well. I bought myself a few science orientated books to help me learn and understand more about astronomy through physics and general relativity. I bought myself a WO ZS66 Petzval refractor for guiding/widER-field imaging. a Lumicon Newtonian Easy Guider.. Wanted to see if it could help my C11 imaging any... And finally, A bunch of stuff from ADM accessories...
D plate for C11, D-plate for Megrez 102, MDS accessory plate for C11, MDS accessory plate for Megrez 102, 2x MDS adapters for connecting guidescope rings to MDS plates.... Finally I can use the ADM D saddle for my EQ6... :)
And what do you know... I get 11 days of holidays, and according to weather forecasts, at least 9 of them involve rain.. :(

Happy Xmas all...

I got a 500Gb external hard drive, that will prove very handy for imaging.

Nothing astro...apart from the Astronomy 2009 book and Astronomy calendar.
However, I was lucky enough to get an Oregon Scientific wireless weather station and plenty of 'other' stuff:D
