Wanted to post these as I think they are rather nice..

All shot with Canon 1d Mk3 + 500 F/4L @ F/4
Mounted on Jobu Black Widow Gimbal mount.

I caught a series of 14 shots of the duck, however being only the 3rd time ive used the gimbal head, and 5th time I've used the lens, not all the images contained said duck.. I think practise with this setup will be the key to a higher strike rate.

Cheers for looking.

Thanks guys...

Dennis, It surely is a monstrous thing to handle.. getting it anywhere is half the trouble... its like owning a 12" newt... its great at what it does, just transporting it thats the problem.. :) You're correct, thats a black duck.. at 8fps with the 1d, i dare say the strike rate will be high as soon as I get the hang of the gimbal.. :) That being said, the shot of the duck is largely un-edited.. a tiny smart sharpen (12% 1.0 radius) and put my name on it... that was it... color and exposure were straight from the camera...

As I’ve gained more experience with the 400mm F5.6L and CS3, I am finding that I do more processing as my skills have gradually developed. I usually perform most of the following before posting on IIS:

Levels
Curves
Shadow/Highlight for under wing areas (if too dark)
Tone down the noise in regions of blue skies.
Smart Sharpen, usually 200 at 0.5 pixels.
Select eyes if deep in shadow and lighten them with Curves.

Cheers

Dennis
