Hi all

With 2008 drawing to a close, I thought it's now a perfect time to reflect upon the past year and highlight some of the more popular events, topics and statistics here on IceInSpace.

Which were the most popular astronomical events in 2008?
What were the most popular threads here on the forum?
What are the most popular pages on IceInSpace?
How many new members registered during 2008?
How many sets of items have been bought and sold through the IceTrade Classifieds?

You can find these answers and more by reading all about it on the IceInSpace homepage (http://www.iceinspace.com.au).

On behalf of IceInspace, Terry and I would like to thank everyone for being part of a fantastic year and a fantastic community. We wish everyone a safe and happy christmas and we look forward to seeing you back for more in 2009!

All the best to you and your families.

A big thank you to the Ice In Space Management Team and their merry helpers for providing such a stimulating, rich and friendly on-line resource for all things astronomical.:2thumbs:

To produce, deliver, manage and maintain such an incredible (and free!) resource obviously requires significant time, dedication, energy, finance, commitment and a fair bit of blood, sweat and tears, so thanks to all the team and contributors for having made 2008 such an enjoyable year in astronomy and related matters.

I enjoy and value the balanced, “family friendly” atmosphere here and hope that it continues for the life of the site, or me, whichever comes last!

Have a lovely Xmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year!:)

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the end of year email.

From a personal point of view this year Ice in Space has:

- Helped me out with a few projects – making a hartmann mask, (but I think I will get a Bahtinov after the posts) and 'Build a Cheap, Simple Laptop Light Control Hutch' for the field
- Facilitated the purchase of my wedge.
- Given me a few ideas for my own observatory which I am thinking I would like to build
- Introduced me to new friends – through IISAC – we are definitely coming again next year

In fact I log into Iceinspace so often it should be my home page.

Thanks for a great year and all the best in 2009

Karen

Yep!
A BIG THANKS TO THE TEAM BEHIND THE SITE AND THANKS TO ALL POSTING MEMBERS!
Above and beyond the rich mine of information that this site is, it's the PEOPLE involved that make it such a worthwhile experience.
To everyone that I've agreed with or disagreed with, to the many that have helped me (you know who you are), to the ones who have stimulated me in so many areas and to the many who have just made me laugh,
A VERY BIG THANK YOU AND A WONDERFUL YEAR TO COME!
My very best wishes to ALL!
