So come December 2009, we'll actually get a summer then?

 You got buckley's Peter! You and me both!
Good steady rain here (not good for astronomy, but good for everything else:P).
If people would stop buying observatories and things, we'd have clear skies again!

Yep , here too , was getting the rod and gear onto/into the car about 2am and arrived with wind, too cold and wet for me so I left the gear where it was and went back inside (good old BW SF on aunti I noticed before hitting the sack).
Looks like it's gonna be set in for a few days and will get heavier.
Not flash for astronomy , but hey .... might be just what the doctor ordered for the fishing if we get a bit of a fresh in the Hunter River .
Not much better in this neck of the woods either, it's been raining here since 3 am this morning.
looks like a busy weekend on IIS coming up.

Just hope the rain falls in the right area for storage. Shame to see it go past the dams.

Beats me why we are aren't capturing and treating (screening) and storing as make up water in dams storm water run off in towns and cities on a statewide basis. Stupid in country like Australia letting that fresh water go to waste and simply flow into sewerage system and not using it.
:windy: the rain is lovely but it could have done it during the week instead of waiting for the weekend AGAIN :mad2:

Nope, it don't go in the sewerage system. Thats a no, no. Stuffs up the treatment process as it dilutes the "food" for them little microbes too much and overloads the system. Putting stormwater into the sewers can lead to a heavy fine too.
But I agree there should be more capture and storage of street run off. The drawback is not the solids in the flow its the contaminants from petroleum products off the roads and other hard to remove substances. Treatment to usable standard is actually more difficult than sewage.
