Well I have been contemplating selling my 6" newt for some time since I have built the new 8" and its only going to sit around unused most of the time, so here it is.
Most of you know this scope has taken some lovely images of Deepsky objects/moon and planets pics so its a very nice performer. Whole scope is virtually homemade from aluminum with S/S fittings and is nice condition thou a bit dusty inside. Primary mirror is around 1/8 - 1/10 on the wavefront and is pyrex and has a handmade pyrex 2.25" secondary which gives nearly 100% illumination over a APS-C size DSLR camera Cmos sensor. Has 80mm cool down fan as well as a secondary heater and a old meade 50 x 8 finderscope (heater inbuilt as well). Also included are a pair of homemade aluminium rings. The OTA and rings are not quiet round due to the engineering mob that rolled them but aside from that its a nice little scope.
Only thing you need is a low profile focuser and your`e in bussiness. Still has the wyo-rock focuser base attached if you want to attach a wyorock crayford focuser which I found was rock solid and recommended.
Not really a beginners scope as you will have to do some fiddling to get things lined up with a other focuser so some ATM knowledge is needed.
PM me if you want more details etc about it.
Asking $280
cheers Gary
