Thanks everyone for your kindness.

Yes, having a great day. My wife has surpassed all previous years.

I climbed out of the shower at 5.50am this morning to be greeted by a hot breakfast which Nina had whipped up without me knowing (Nina normally does not surface much before 7am). I was then presented with a 2 inch Lumicon OIII filter and a birthday cake with little red loveheart shaped jubes, the jubes making one large loveheart.

I was then gently chastised for getting out of bed so early....something along the lines of "How can I give you a morning bonk when you get up so early?" Maybe later.....

The kids just wanted cake, and wondered how anyone could possibly be as old as 39.

I plan to stay 39 for a long time. Perhaps I can slow earth's orbit of Sol somehow?

Thanks Kev! Had a great day, mate, thanks for asking. I hope to get out your way sometime in the next few years...my wife has a good mate there, and there is a standing invite for us to come to stay for a week or two...it's just such a long way to drive, and 5 air tickets to take all of the family is going to get very expensive. How do you find the skies?

And Jen - I think it is good to keep an open mind to these things too. The maths seems to be against us, in terms of ever having contact with another intelligent civilisation, but fingers crossed we make first contact with someone soon!

Thanks Gary, always nice to receive some well-wishes from across the Tasman.

Hopefully we will see you in Oz again sometime soon?? (SPSP in 2009 should be fantastic, scheduled for May, when the Milky Way will be gracing us with all its splendour - and you might even collect some more imaging awards!!)
