Hey everybody.

I guess like most, imaging time with the weather some (if not all) of us have experienced over the past few weeks has been limited....plus I am hard packing up the house for my move to the US in Jan.....naturally, I am leaving the scope till the very last moment.

Actually, I had planned to post this a few days ago, but literally on the day Rob G nailed an APOD with the same galaxy, using the 1.5m data from Chile :mad2:. So, it seemed a little pointless.

Anyway, here 'tis...and as always, thanks for looking and the feedback.

LRGB 10.3.3.3 hours.

That's beautiful, Martin. What a brilliant image.
Is the full-size version up-sampled at all?

Thanks chaps for the additional posts...

Hi Mike..no, not at all...normally when I post images, they have been reduced to 50% in size, but in this case, no reduction was necessary as it is a small galaxy...instead, the complete FOV was cropped to just frame the galaxy, but no up sampling was done. Indeed, there is a very bright star off to the left of the galaxy which I initially included in the final image, but it drew attention, so it was cropped out.

thanks

Martin

Mmm... not too shabby :P

No, seriously Martin - that is a top notch image, with great colour and detail.

Go and stir those Americans up with images like that! They won't like a Pom with an RCOS beating them at their own game

Enjoy the USA, stay in touch.

Rob

Nice Martin. Truly fascinaing to see the third dimension so clearly. The elevated arm really has some shape to it.

Thanks chaps

Dont worry Rob.....I will give it a go, but unfortunately, Rob G has about 10 years on me and about 60 APODs I think at the last count, so I will happily sit in 2nd or even 3rd division for a while!

cheers
