Ok, after literally spamming the forums with all my pics this week this is the last one. Promise. I've got nothing left so you won't hear from me in a while :)

10x600s on Celestron 5" with QHY8 Gain:1 Offset:60 Baader UHC-s booster filter, MPCC guided with PHD/ED80 on G11 and captured in Nebulosity 2. Processed in CCD Stack , flat fielded and dark subtracted, mosaic and levels in CS3. I did a bit of star reduction as well as sharpening. Maybe a bit too much.

There's "small" full frame at: http://www.multiweb.com.au/astro/ngc3372_f.jpg [4.5MB]

and a huge mosaic at: http://www.multiweb.com.au/astro/ngc3372_pano.jpg [9.0MB]

Thanks for looking. Comments/tips most welcome.

Hi Marc. Nice image but I wonder if you got the focus quite right. The stars look a little soft and fluffy. You captured plenty of data and the overall detail is great. It just looks a bit soft.

You're right hey. Looking at it right now it's "fluffy". It looked alright late last night when I finished processing with my "sleepy eyes switched on". :confuse3: Anyway, that's it. I'm off to Andrew's tomorrow buying a focuser :2thumbs:

It's another beautiful region of the sky. So much detail to look for and examine. Thanks for posting.

Great composition, guiding, exposure and colour, but I agree with Hagar, the focus seems a bit soft.
I remember you saying your 'Hellraiser' focuser was a bit hit-and-miss, at this stage I reckon a new focuser would be a good investment because atm your focuser is the weakest link in your imaging chain ;)

Cheers,

Rob

What focuser are you going to put on it??

Despite the mild softness, its still a very nice, very detailed image...

The only spot on shot was the M45 shot I posted earlier on.The focus on that shot was unreal but it was just luck. That proved the primary mirror can resolve that good. I'm thinking of getting a low profile 2" crayford and recollimate the whole system. I think they go for $130.00 or so.
