Hi all,
I am on a course this week in Sydney and decided to bring up my camera, tripod and lens to image the conjunction. Well, that was an epic fail of enormous proportions. Thanks, cloud.
I had wanted to get an artistic shot with the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the foreground with the trio in the background. Oh, well. Perhaps next time.
I was with some friends and as we were walking past Opera Quay (the Toaster), it was heartening to hear this girl, probably in her 20s, talking to her friend about the smiley face conjunction and that she was excited to see it. I should have stopped, said hello, and said I was on my way to imaging it!
Anyway, instead, I have nabbed this.
This is a mosaic of 8 images; each of which was a 3-image HDR composition. I worked on this one in Photoshop for quite some time to get it just how I wanted it.
Shot at 24mm at f/4 on the lovely 24-105 f/4L IS USM lens.
If anyone's after the high-resolution image, please ask, and I'll provide a link. It makes for a nice desktop background. :)
Comments and critique, as always, are welcome.
Regards,
Humayun
