My turn now :P
1. Smiley with the filter on the lens. The effect is interesting but I wasn't happy until I worked out what was causing it.
2. That's better.
3. Jupiter and moons crop.

Nice work, Paul.
Thanks for the tip about the filter. I've gotten those green reflections in the past and knew it was a reflection off something but didn't even think of taking the UV filter off.

Hi Paul
Nice photos! Thanks for the filter explanation too – I’ve suffered the same ghosting/flare effect and didn’t connect it to the filter!
Cheers

nice work Mr Ponders
Excellent Paul, very nice capture.
I used the 135mm on my shot too but I used it wide open at f/2.
Yes I should have mentioned about the UV filter that if you're imaging a strong source, like in our shots, that you may get ghosting.
What it is is that the light actually reflects back up the lens off the sensor glass and hits the back of the UV filter.
Then it reflects back down the lens and is recorded by the sensor as ghosting.
I usually don't bother to take off the filter unless it's severe as I prefer to keep the lens protected.
Well done Sir !
Great shot paul, your eyes are very sharp (V and J :) ) .. beautiful.
Another thankyou re flaring on lens
