Hi all,

This is my very first CCD deep sky object attempt from a dark sky site in Australia. Albeit the passing clouds and showers, during the second night amidst a clearing opportunity, i've decided to take 47 Tuc before a hopeful subsequent attempt on Tarantula. This is probably another common attempt by the several great versions i've seen in the internet, but i'd had to take it coming from where i am where it is always so low in the southern horizon.

Instrument: Vixen FL80S (native f.l., w/o flattener)
CCD: ST2KXM
Exposures: L30 R15 G15 B15

That's a nice image.

Try lassooing the centre/feather and use shadows/highlights on it to show more of the core which is probably there in your data.

Greg.

Nice job Remus looks very natural even without core resolution.

Where you from by the way, that has 47Tuc low in the sky..?

Mike

Greg: Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, checking the original data, it is already saturated for the 5 min subs. I had wanted to do shorter ones to incorporate into the core detail but the weather was not cooperative. Will hope to do it next time out.

Mike: I am from Singapore where 47 Tuc is extremely low. We met during IISAC Lostock Jan 2007. Am here for work till late next year.
