Hi folks,
Has been a long spell without any clear skies. Yesterday didn`t look to promising with storm after storm rolling through and on sunset when things started looking promising a bank of low clouds rolled in from the south.
On waking up at 11.30pm I checked outside like I usually do and to my surprise, clear skies... :)

Seeing was rather poor but transparency was excellent due to all that activity earlier that day. All went well except some minor wind buffeting which didn`t have much effect on the subs..
Ok here are the details of B33 and IC 434 Emission and NGC 2023 reflection neb and friends...20 x 6min @ iso 800,with DF and FF subtracted in DSS and processed in PS. Taken with the 8" f/4.6 newt and Canon 20D.
Image is full frame but has been compressed quiet a bit to get under 200ks..
Looks like there could be more imaging tonight...fingers crossed..:)
Thanks for looking
Gary

Someday, Kirk. Someday.

That is so cool! I don't know why the HH fascinates me like it does. But I see beautiful photos like that I just feel a sense of awe.

that's a different orientation to try and move the bright star from the image and allow you to go deeper, very nice Gary

A very fine image...in fact one of the best DSLR HH renditions I have seen.
Nailed the focus, guiding spot on. Great colour.

Thanks Paul, Kirk, Doug, Dave, Jeanette, Peter, alex, Kev, Craig, Frank, Ric, Mark and Smirnoff! Your feedback is very much appreciated! :)
I was quiet surprised in how far I could keep stretching the original stacked image to show the fainter detail!
This was also a rather quick process, so I shall sit down on a cloudy night and redo this one and maybe get some more detail showing.
Shall upload a higher res version soon if anyone wants a closer look.
Thanks again kind people...

Spectacular work Gary. The 8" optics you've build certainly looks to deliver great images. The quality is something I'd expect to see from an dedicated astro cam. I'd say you've taken over the DSLR guru crown from Eric.;) Top stuff. Well done.

I saw this when you posted it Gary but didn't have time to reply until now.

I love it mate, what a wonderful rendition of the HH.
The colours are lovely and saturated and you've also brought out the fine detail too.

You really are cranking out the beauties with your setup and if this is a just a quick process then I can't wait to see your final version.

Kudos to you Sir.
