New NGC 253

Well after seeing Steve J's excellent NGC 253 I realised my NGC 253 from last season..err?..was in fact a bit too noisey :whistle: ok ok I know....

So I reprocessed it (flavour of my processing these days :sadeyes:)

I must re do NGC 253 completely with new colour data some time as this version used only a previous upscaled colour image done a few years ago with an 80ED for the RGB, as a result it was just not strong enough nor did it have enough image scale to show up the red HII regions in the galaxy very well once the Luminance from the 6" Starfire (double the image scale of the 80ED) was added, the colour just wasn't there :(

Anyway, I think this close-up crop (the full field is much bigger) is better than the previous version...?

Ah, noise... We've been down that path Mike. Everyone does. What is acceptable to one is not to another. I think this repro looks ok. I still have vivid memories of your original. Whether you've top it... I'm not sure. To be forthright, I don't like the stars. They appear too abrupt or stark and detract from the smooth delicate features of the galaxy. All this reprocessing are early signs of cabin fever. Heed the warning and seek new moon dark skies my friend. Well done.
