El Cheapo Weather nearly 12000 hits is that a record
Me thinks too many people are preoccupied with the weather.
The weathers like getting old, you'll have good days and bad but there is nothing you can do to change it !!!
My 53rd BD today, I awoke this morning with not a cloud in the sky after two weeks of cloudy nights, thinking well maybe I can get an observing session in tonight won't that be great but by 10:00am the clouds had rolled back in again. Such is life !!!
Happy Birthday Trevor, hope those skies clear for you tonight.
Cheers

Happy B'day.
I think we should put a ban on anyone buying new astro gear for at least a month in the hope that the weather will clear up.
I havent been out for close to a month now.

Thanks for the kind words (although I'm still waiting on (Iceman) someone to let me know if that thread is a record.
I was thinking more, which I have a habbit of doing and thought not only age but life is like the weather and it's probably been said before that
you have your good patches and bad and theres nothing you can do to change that but just make the best of it.

Well the clouds parted for me last night so abouit 9:00 which was the time it got dark enough to start taking images, I did until the clouds came back after about 14 frames of M42, so if it clears again tonight I'll try and get some more subs taken. Did get to see an beautiful bright meteor burn out in the South West sky around 8:30
Cheers

Hi Trevor a belated happy 53rd birthday to you. I hope you had a good one (if you can remember it).
Yup we are preoccupied with the weather, I am an example I spent night after night in my observatory supernova hunting and now that we have had a month of crappy weather and it looks like it might continue, I buy myself one of those el cheapo weather stations and start taking measurements and data and presto I am a hooked weather freak. And then the next thing is I start answering posts on Ice In Space because it is cloudy night after night, ah well I suppose something good comes from something bad., wonder if I can make a 1000 posts in record time? I now know why Cloudy Nights is called Cloudy Nights, thanks to the drought we have been spoilt for so long.

That's easy, its about 20 paces out the back door down to my observatory.
Sorry, no link I don't have internet down there so I can concentrate on my imaging, when its clear of course.

Another clear night in Perth tonight sitting outside drinking a glass of red while the camera takes some flats going to give the guider another go tonight have both scopes set up side by side just waiting for it to get dark which at the moment won't be until 9:00 (did I say day light saving sucks).
Might try my luck at the Horsehead and some longer subs of M42 all going well ie if the red and mosies don't get the better of me. All the best to all who venture out tonight.
