Hi All,
Finally had a clear night so imaged M42 for this first time this year (hope to get more) slighty out of frame for the "Running Man Nebula" but next better I hope, Also took ngc 2024 and IC434 but a bit of cloud drifted by so not so good on these objects.

Both 5 x 6 Min. Exp. at ISO 800, DF removed, guided,
Canon EOS300D modded, Scope ED80 at F-7.5

cheers...................Jim

Hi Jim,

Those shots both look great! What type of mount was this on? What were you using for guiding?

Nice  Is this the full field of the ED80 at prime focus?

Hi All,
To answer a few questions, first Yes this was taken at Prime Focus with the ED80 (no reducers Etc.), as regards guiding, the ED80 is mounted on an LX200-10" Scope, on a polar mount (wedge), the guide Camera is an SE- MX7C, using Astroart to guide, it all works well.

There is some noise in both pictures, this is due to NOT using a matched DF, just one from a different time, for best results a matched DF is required (one taken at the same time as the images), but I dident have time to do so.

cheers........Jim
