Damn, I tossed up whether to stay up or not but the wind was still too gusty. :(

Hi Ron
We were being lashed by gusty Sou’ Westerlies so I didn’t even attempt to set up. Sounds like you’re having a ball at your place!
Cheers

It was a great night. I started at 7.30 and I didn't get in till after 2am.
Feeling very haggard this morning. Ugh.

Yes Guys and Girls it was a night to remember:)I have never seen NGC 891 so clear with the bright part of the galaxy as clear as NGC55 and the Dark lane very crisp:eyepop:
Gave it away at 01:00 due to some Cirrus clouds coming across, but after I had packed all away it had cleared:(
I have started to observe Arp galaxies and last night I was able to see a great many brighter than 15th mag.:)
But still a very rewarding night:):):astron::stargaze:

Nice one Ron, 15th mag! wow!
I didnt set up last night due to the wind... I tried on saturday night but was defeated by wind, I did do perhaps an hour or two of visual observing with the C11, and seeing/transparency were good.. I was able to split the trapezium to all 6 stars with 30mm and a 2x barlow, and with the same ep+barlow, I spent some time on NGC7331, I made out 7335 and 7337 fleas, but couldnt make out 7336 or 7340.. I also saw for the first time "Stephan's Quintet" in a 10mm ep.. It wasnt much to look at, due to the fact that I was gazing over my house roof, which was causing some heat haze effects..
I think the storms rain did wonders for the quality of the sky, Just hoping for a clear night with a light breeze rather than a howling wind! :)
I dont ask for much! :D

Ron your view of 891 was much better than mine. I looked at it and 3 other NGC galaxies in that area last night, 404, 925 and 1023.

Glen I to observed NGC1023, it is one bright galaxy:eyepop:I will keep in mind Ngc 925 for my next observing session:)Ngc 404 is a regular favourite:)
By the way my article on the 24 Herschel galaxies was published in the latest Webb Society Deep Sky Observer, with reference noted to your challenge and input:thumbsup:
