NGC 2070 in Colour and Narrow Band and HDR with SN10

Managed to get some colour data with the SN10 with the fridge fitted. Here it is added to some NB data. I can go deeper but this looks very promising.

Canon 5DH. SN10 with Paracorr, Colour 10x(1m, 2m, 4m and 8m) at 800 ISO at -10.0C. NB 5x(2m, 4m and 8m) at 800 ISO at 15C ICNR. ETC.

Well done Bert. 10" @ F/4 (aperture and speed) will pick up nebulous structure in no time. Your image certainly proves this with faint wisps throughout the frame. The dynamic range has been well managed - good work.

I agree with Jase, 10" & F4 is pretty useful, great for a DSLR but gee, with a good cooled mono CCD and filters you could do bluddy wonders.

I look forward to seeing more stuff from this combo tho!

Very nicely done Bert! seems that piggy backing the fridge has no effect at all on guiding etc! :thumbsup:

Balancing is fairly straightfoward with the side by side from StarStuff. The mount has three 5.4kg and two 4.?kg counterweights to balance this lot. Plus a smaller one wired on. I moved the OTA back in its rings to almost balance the fridge. The images below show it better.

My mount has also has belt drives with very robust stepper motors which means it can handle far more than a standard gearbox equipped mount. I once had the SN10, 100ED and 150mm achro all on at once and it tracked fine.

There is also a 15s exposure of M42 with a crop showing Trapezium detail.. Shows how steady everything is even with two fans spinning on the fridge.
