Hi,

Attached please find my 2nd shot on Mars from this imaging session, taken through 12.5" F5 Newtonian + Vixen Or-12.5mm eyepiece projection + ToUcam at 19:37 UT on August 30th. 1272 frames stacked and processed in Registax and Photoshop. Finally cropped w/o any resizing.

Seeing condition was not so good, about 4/10. so, I think that was just a fair image.

Hope you still love it, and any comment is welcome.

Thanks for looking.

Clear skies,

LT

Lovely shot William, you can see the northern clouds very clearly.. won't be long before the icecap forms!

Excellent detail on a large image scale! Can't wait to see your results in good seeing!

You planetary imagers never fail to astonish me..I see a great picture and go wow and up pops another image that tops the previous one

just for a chuckle would be interesting to compare these recent images with those released by the major observatories, say 15 years ago..suspect amateurs are way up there

Awesome shot,

I agree with Houghy- It looks like you took it from an orditer. :eyepop:

I second that seeker. The standard these days IS way up there.

wow,

when you say 12.5mm eyepiece projection, what setup do you have with your toucam? I have an eyepiece projection tube for the toucam with the t thread adapter:
http://www.telescopes-astronomy.com.au/eyepiece_projection_adaptor.jpg
But the 25mm won't fit in and the 12.5mm, i can't focus on anything in space! It will be going back to the supplier i think. i have one on order with aoe that connectes to the eyepiece directly and then into the toucam.

how much barlow?

The best pic so far this month for mine!!!

Thanks for all the good words from you.

In fact, I was experimenting on what effective focal ratio could achieve with an eyepiece projection to seek for the best configuration. However, this setup seemed to be too much. I think a longer focal length, say 15mm, might give the best sampling to ToUcam with my telescope on Mars.
