new object

A little while there was a post on anything new in the sky? which I was to lazy to chase up to post this:P
This is a new object just found in the last few months.:eyepop:
I have been following a thread on another website about this very object.

Incredible. If I got something like that in an image I'd be checking the scope and cam for defects, completely circular, looks like there was a drop of dew on the eyepiece or objective. Be interesting to know what it is.

I have tried to get the proper co-ordinates of this object but have not been able to.
It seems this will only be released when the object is finally given a proper designation by the IAU

I did a bit of detective work with Registar. Started with these two images below and the third is the two combined (sum) with Registar.

The trio image is from APOD a few days ago and I guessed that the undesignated bubble may be in here somewhere.

I upsized the original trio image with PS to 5k pixels wide and enhanced with RL in ImagesPlus to minimise jpg jaggies etc. Below is exactly the same area as the original udesignated bubble excised from the enhanced trio image with Registar and the Ubub at the same scale. I will let you decide if it is indeed the correct area. I think it is.

Here is a crop from the enhanced trio image and the UBUB superimposed with Registar. So if you know the coords to the Crescent Neb. you now have the coords to the Undesignated Bubble Neb. courtesy of Registar and a wild guess. The third image is a crop from the original image before enhancement.

It looks very small and very faint in these new comparisons.. makes it even more amazing that they found it.

Here is a map from StarAtlasPro with the combined image superimposed with Registar. So the undesignated bubble is at 20hr 16m and +38 deg 00 min approx.

I just went to http://archive.eso.org/dss/dss
and typed in RA 20 15.35, dec 38 02.8 using a 20'x20' field and DSS2-red.
The dark area is visible in the DSS image and the APOD image has north to the left.
There is a hint of the circle diameter 4' in the DSS1 and DS2-red images.
The main nebula in the lower part of the APOD image (not the circle) is DWB 20. (Dickel, Wendker, Bieritz)

The first image is the bubble image superimposed with Registar on the DSS image. The other two are obvious.
