Great stuff Andrew...but did anyone get any shots of us lot up on the imaging hill at all? I think Big Dave got a couple. I know we were a bit remote from everyone else down on the flats - which was a big pity.

Nice thread Andrew
Its funny knowing people here in cyber space and having absolutly no idea what they look look like.
Whats even funnier is that I actualy met you almost two years ago on one of our observing jaunts and thought I was being stalked by a grinning stranger at the local shopping centre just a couple of months ago!!!

While we are at it.....

We were lucky enough to have Fred (Bassnut) as a neighbor.
Fred's probably forgotten more stuff on astro imaging than your average punter has knows.
Not to mention his abundance of stories from his globe trotting adventures.
Should have taken a time lapse series of shots of Fred erecting his tent but, I only had a zillion gig of memory left for the camera

Every year I hope to get there, I'm looking forward to having the time and money for it some year soon

Great stuff RB and Deeno. Great photos of a fantastic weekend, just a shame the shootout between Peter (peterau aka the texas ranger) and his FLT and my Tak didn't eventuate - always next year.

There were some multiple shots and the rest are of the prize draw and talks, they'll be posted later.

Thank you so much Fahim.

You know, I had the camera in my backpack when I came up to see you, but I got sidetracked talking to you about your lovely tak setup I plumb forgot to get it out and get some shots of you.
I must admit though I didn't really know anyone else and was cautious so as not to offend anyone.
I know it's a bit intimidating having this weirdo that you don't know, stick a zoom lens in your face and take your pic and because of the weather most scopes were usually covered up.
I'll have to make a point and get around a bit more next year.

What are you talking about?
I knew it was you at the shopping centre and I was still scared to approach you !

Nah no worries mate, these are great photos, you've done an excellent job and everyone's welcome to contribute if they like.

Goodonya Wayne, it was so good to meet you and Peter !
I loved both your setups and I'm looking forward to you all coming up to the Pony Club at some stage.

Mike,

This was actually the subject of discussion at IISAC 2008 and we came to the conclusion that those chooks of RB's lay little golden eggs :)

Cheers,

Excellent shots there Deeno (well, most of them :P), your pro background in photo-taking shows.

And I must say, your and Amandas company was most enjoyable, thanks for enduring my rants :D.

Andrew, Deeno and Mike,

Fantastic shots there!

Andrew, for some reason, I'm really drawn to the image of the lone Meade. It is tack sharp. Beautiful!

Were these taken with your 20Da? Also, which lenses were you using? Is that you with a 70-200mm F/2.8L IS USM being packed away in one of Deeno's shots? *dribble and drool*

Humayun

G'day H,

I really like the Meade shot too, thanks.

LOL yes you're spot on, I took all these with the 20Da and the 70-200 L f/2.8 IS (who told you ).

Actually the one of Chris (33south) was taken with the 85L wide open on f/1.2, I was showing him how 'paper thin' the DOF is when it's wide open. :)
The 20Da is still a great performer for me, both for astro and terrestrial.

LOL Deeno, whenever someone photographs me using a Nikon, the picture always turns out wierd.

:poke: :scared3:

Hi Deeno & all

That's actually me with Peter from the ACT, rather than Madwayne
I thought i'd better correct this as it's probably not that complimentary to either of us LOL

I was wondering if my rough head might appear,
at least it's from my good side
