G'day all,
Had a great time at Red Bull air race in Perth today. Rode in on our bikes and spent 4 hours there watching the finals and associated other aerobatic entertainment.
I didn't end up with as good photo's as in 2006, I think because I wasn't in as good position. The sun was rarely at a good angle and the planes not as often "face on" to get good shots. But still a good chance to clock through a few photo's :)

Comments welcome.

Thanks, it was a great day :)
I used my 70-200 F4 L for most of them, a few with my Tamron 2x and only a couple with m 17-40 F4 L.

Some great shots there Roger :)
I watched part of it on Fox, and I have to say that it's the first time I've just sat there for a while watching. Geez it's come a long way. What a production!!
Who won in the end? Lamb in his Breitling? Unfortunately I had to go before the semi's were over.
A nice round of photos there Roger.
I'd love to attend this event, it'd be amazing !

Good question :) I have to admit complete ignorance as I was more interested in photos and talking with friends than what they were saying. I know Kirby Chaimbers didn't win, but only because for some reason his name stuck in my head from 2006 and he didn't do well in this years event.
I do feel lucky to have it here in Perth, it is something really different and great to attend. We do tend to only go for about 4 hours over the main finals when really we should give it more patronage than that, there's lots happening for the whole two days and even the week leading up to it they are doing practising a lot of the time. But with other things to do, it's hard to spend more than that 4 hours on it :)

From what I recall, Bonhomme won the race but Arch was crowned champion for the World Series. Arch was the rookie last year as well I think.

Thanks Leinad
I was hoping Lamb would come through after his spectacular high-g left turns back through the Duo. 8.2-g's is quite incredible. Oh well, at least he's now competitive.
