Excellent condition Tasco (really a Vixen or Circle 'V') 125mm x 1000mm (f/8) catadioptric reflector for sale inc. photo adaptor (takes 1" EP's). Rack & pinion focuser accepts 1.25" EP's. The mirror is in perfect condition thanks to the glass corrector plate on the front of the OTA. Quite lightweight which would make a great guidescope or just a quick grab and go scope. The overall length of the OTA is 450mm. All you need is a standard 200mm dovetail bar for mounting. $200 o.n.o. plus postage. This is the only telescope the 'Telescope Bluebook' has listed under Tasco, here is what they said :
Tasco Corporation
You might be surprised to see the name Tasco in these pages. However you might feel about the company, they did make a few good telescopes. Earlier in their history they imported their telescopes from companies in Japan that made very usable telescopes. Most of these were the old white tube refractors, but one good Catadioptric was also marketed for a time.
The Tasco 8V was the company's only outstanding telescope. The 5" f/8 optical assembly was actually an f/4 system with a built-in 2x barlow at the base of the focuser and was made by Vixen, Japan . It was mounted on the high quality Polaris mount of Celestron/Vixen fame and included the polaris finder. It was accompanied by a 6x30 finder and good quality .965 focuser/eyepieces. This could be a nice buy if you can find one.
