Thank you all I am deeply touched by your comments, I will try to find time to contribute in any way I can, Hopefully in the near future I will get another scope of a more modest nature, one that I may travel with. It is with deep regret that the 14er is sold, I have had many satisfying and rewarding evenings, with this scope, I'm sure the new owner will also. Anyways, as I say Ill visit, but less frequently, and in the interim avoid the imaging section...:(

I don't know what to say now Ive made a pratt of myself sulking about the sale of my scope...I'm looking for an EQ6 and a modest refractor as a pacifier, "I need portability" .. any suggestions... I would like to stay a part of the Observing community, and avoid the ranks of the armchair Astronomer, "No offence to those that are" its just not my cup of tea...:(.

Hi Shawn, it's perfectly understandable mate. I'd be upset if I had to part with my 12" let alone something as grand as a 14".

As long as your looking up, even with the naked eye that counts as part of the observing community.

A sudden need for funds Mike, but mainly only 8 nights over one year, if not through other commitments then through clouds or Moon... Portability therefor is an option I had not really considered until now. The Observatory is still here. Not sure what to do about that...
